B12 in Blévita?

B12 in Blévita?

I think it's about time that Migros at least added a Blévita line with B12 supplements. One without skimmed milk powder, mind you! It is still incomprehensible that almost no fortified products are available here in Switzerland. B12 sprays with higher amounts of vit are not legalized either..... Thank you

Supplementation is regulated throughout Switzerland; Migros can't do much about it, after all Migros also has to abide by the law (https://www.fedlex.admin.ch/eli/cc/2017/161/de). And the laws in Switzerland, the EU, America, etc. are not the same...

As a vegan, I would definitely supplement B12 with tablets/spray 500ui daily or 1000ui one to three times a week, and not just via fortified foods, because you quickly lose track and end up with a deficiency. In my opinion, jarrows is best, it's safe and you can even get it in Switzerland, which is legal for you as a consumer anyway, e.g. you can order it from mrvegan.ch

Hello GuyCH, from a food law perspective, you could certainly fortify the Blévitas with vitamin B12. However, fortification does not necessarily make sense from a nutritional point of view. Widespread fortification of foods (watering can principle) is not recommended today. The majority of the population has hardly any need for added vitamin B12. Therefore, in our view, it makes little sense to fortify a product like Blévita, which is often consumed daily and in large quantities by people from all population groups, with vitamin B12. Kind regards, Sina
