As parents and grandparents, shopping with children is generally not easy.
Since the renovation at Migros, there is an inviting counter with all kinds of delicacies next to the bread. I went to pick up my shopping cart and my granddaughter ran up to the counter like mad and grabbed one of those sticky chocolate donuts. Yes, I thought, you have to wrap it up and pay for it now. When I made another purchase, I was only just able to stop her from grabbing it again.
On the one hand, I didn't like the fact that this counter was so low that even a child in a baby carriage could reach it. On the other hand, the manager wanted to remind me that I had a duty of supervision and had not fulfilled it.
In a legal text, I found a reference to the fact that goods that are too easily accessible for children would not violate the duty of supervision for small children up to the age of 4. He rejected the suggestion to prevent these attacks with a glass panel or to raise the counter on the grounds that the counter complied with the law! Unfortunately, I have also seen other children and adults touching the sweets but not buying them. It does have a spit screen (this is a dome that is placed over the sweets to prevent spit from landing on the sweets when talking :-/ ) What do you think about it?
