Aproz instead of Vittel!

Aproz statt Vittel!

Dear Migros

It annoys me that (except in very large stores) both chilled drinks are only Vittel and no red non-carbonated Aproz.

Of course there is not enough room for the whole range, but why does Migros choose Vittel? Because of the little bit more turnover? Or is Vittel paying for it?

It would be great if Migros preferred the local (and more mineral-rich) Aproz. With the margin of the own brand, the calculation would also work out for Migros despite the lower price (unless Vittel pays you that much, but that would be a bad deal for me as a consumer).

Dear @eventus

Thank you for your message. The individual cooperatives decide which products are offered chilled. You are welcome to let me know which cooperative you shop at and I will be happy to place your request there. But as you said yourself, the refrigerated space is very limited, so unfortunately there's not enough room for all your favorite drinks.

Dear Nicole

Thank you for your answer! Let's take MMM in Brugg AG as an example. It's considered one of the most modern Migros branches. Vittel is chilled, Aproz red is not.

Even if space is tight, the question remains: why not the other way around?

As an example of a Migros Zurich, we might take the one at the main station.

Hello @eventus

Would also go for Vittel?
I suspect that it is contractually regulated with Nestle. Because in the two MMM where I shop, it changes from Vittel / S. Pellegrino, which for me is the best water except Valser! ?

Hello Eventus

I suspect it has to do with sales - Vittel probably sells better than Aproz. I usually go for Vittel myself. Firstly, because I get the 0.75-liter bottle; secondly, because both the large and the small bottle are easier to handle than those of Aproz. Besides, Vittel tastes good. Aproz always has a strange aftertaste.

And another reason could be that the Aproz source doesn't provide that much water. At least that was the reason why, a few years ago, sweet drinks were no longer made with Aproz but with water from the Aven spring.

Best regards

Tastes are different. For me, Vittel is bland. And if I'm going to buy a mineral water, it should be rich in Ca and Mg.

But apart from that, where is the advertised (and likeable) "From us. From here." attitude?

Hello @eventus

As @Geh-heim-Dienst has already indicated, the stores decide which drinks are offered chilled and which are not based on customer demand. So unfortunately I can't give you any positive feedback, but I really hope you like the non-chilled Aproz.

Hello Nicole

Thank you for your efforts. Unfortunately, I don't like lukewarm water so I switch to other chilled drinks, mainly the cult green tea IceTea, which luckily is everywhere.

Is it not simply due to the higher margin...?

I don't believe that Migros has more margin on Vittel than on Aproz, but I do believe that Vittel pays for the placement (listing) in the chiller cabinet. The fact that Vittel is there because it is (supposedly) more in demand is probably just an official reason.

Either way, there's nothing wrong with what Migros is doing. But the "From us. From here." philosophy seems hypocritical, because as soon as the money flows, foreign water flows too.

No. I think the Vittel simply has a much better taste... I find the red Aproz dreadful....
