Yesterday I bought apricots from Valais. Thought I'd support the Swiss economy. They looked great, ripe and red-cheeked. But when I bit into them, I was disappointed: I've never eaten anything so sour in my life! The people of Valais seem to prefer to throw the juicy ripe apricots into the Rhone. I notice that the more unripe, sour fruit is sold, the longer it goes on sale. My stomach screams ouch every time!
Don't blame the producers if no ripe fruit can be accepted because of the logistics. It always makes me a bit sad when you don't have the opportunity to buy tasty sweet fruit from the farmer - and have to go to the store where only half-ripe fruit is available.
