Antibiotic meat removed from the range

Antibiotika-Fleisch aus dem Sortiment

The World Health Organization has published new recommendations on the use of antibiotics in animals. It criticizes the often irresponsible use of these substances. I would therefore like to know whether there are already plans to do without such antibiotic meat?

In my opinion, this applies to the following products, for example:

Hello antibiotika, thank you for your inquiry. We will be happy to clarify your request with our meat department. You will hear from us shortly. Best regards, Jan

Hi antibiotika, your answer is already here! Migros is working intensively on animal welfare in its Generation M projects. Corresponding projects are also underway for the items mentioned, such as lamb kidneys. We also promote the consumption of lamb with sustainable TerraSuisse lamb from Switzerland, which will be reinforced in the fall by larger activities of TerraSuisse Alplamm. Do you have any further questions? Best regards, Jan

It's a shame that antibiotic meat is still in the range.

Dear@antibioticsWehave news for you regarding this important topic. We do not have any antibiotic meat in our range. However, we are obliged to display this information on lamb from New Zealand. The use of antibiotics to promote performance in lamb production is prohibited in New Zealand. As in Switzerland, antibiotics may only be used in New Zealand to treat sick animals. In contrast to Switzerland, in New Zealand an antibiotic can be used at short notice in sick animals without a veterinary prescription. As this procedure does not comply with Swiss legislation, New Zealand lamb must be labeled "May have been produced with non-hormonal performance enhancers such as antibiotics". I hope this clarifies many open points. If you have any further questions, please contact us at any time, we will be happy to help you.

I wish you a relaxing weekend.

Best regards

Marina

The issue is incredibly important. I'm pretty sure the Wagyu 'Frozen Butcher' hamburgers from the US carry a warning that antibiotics may be used in their production. They're still on sale, aren't they?

Hello everyone, thank you for contacting us. Migros is making great efforts in this area. As antibiotics can be used at short notice in New Zealand in the event of illness, this must also be declared accordingly. Accordingly, we are increasingly importing lamb kidneys from Ireland. Kind regards, Jan
