Unfortunately I can't find my old post on this, so I'm writing it again. Some time ago (years?) the community or the Migros managers helped me here (sometime in the last 3-4 years at most) and maybe the Migros staff can help me again. Now I'm facing the same problem again and I'm asking for help. Before corona, my husband and I were regulars at Migros Wohlen and were actually eating there almost every day. I realized that the large portions were too much for me because of my gastric bypass, so I took half portions. But even half portions were too much and, with the 25% price reduction on what I had left over, they weren't worth it. I then turned to the community and asked whether it might be possible for me to eat a junior portion, i.e. a children's plate, because of my gastric bypass. It's a good size and with the small amounts that I sometimes can't even finish, the price is more worthwhile. The community staff were able to help me and Mr. Stadelmann allowed me to have the junior plate. I was the only one to get the exception until the end, but unfortunately it's gone now. Today I spoke to the new boss and to be honest I'm more than disappointed in terms of customer friendliness. Because of my Asperger's, I found it a bit difficult to react properly and explain the matter better, but I'll try again here in writing. His argument: "Anyone can come here and suddenly everyone has special requests" is a bit ....... Firstly, not everyone will have a gastric bypass. Secondly, I felt like I only had one special request, like a guest in a restaurant who wants 1000 extra sausages. I tried for years to find the right size and tried everything. The children's plate was the only sensible solution, which was good value for money with the right size and, if necessary, a bearable price if it was over after the 5th bite. I don't go there very often either (except maybe right now because I don't like eating outdoors) and I don't want a general permit for all Migros throughout Switzerland but just a concession in a restaurant where I really go often. It's just really disappointing. Today I felt like the last supplicant with a weird request. The rest of the staff are super nice, by the way, so my compliments.

It's not about that at all. I made an agreement with the Migros restaurant, which finally helped me after a lot of trial and error. It was worth it and I didn't have to carry any food with me, which wouldn't be the best anyway. Ever eaten soggy salad or cold chips or cold meat? Besides, there are still days when I misjudge whether I can eat something or not. And with less than 7 francs, at least that wasn't a problem. Besides, I didn't eat there very often either. Mr. Stadelmann just understood what it means to have a gastric bypass. Mr. Lambrigger just doesn't. It's just annoying. There is only a normal portion or a small portion with 25% less of the price. It's just not worth it for me with the quantities. And Mr. Lambrigger doesn't even know about the options. He said something about the portions being weighed and that I can pay by weight. Joke, this has already been abolished and is no longer offered at Migros. It's just a shame that Migros reacts in such a customer-unfriendly way. I've already had a conversation with the gentleman, I won't do it to myself again. From the top down, as if I were a person who just had special wishes that he didn't want to fulfill. He has ZERO idea what a problem this is for me.

With the same initial health situation, I was able to help myself from the free choice buffet at any time before the big C issue until February 2020. I went to the Migros restaurant MMM Marktgasse Bern - lots of variety at the then price of CHF 3.10/100 g. No issue as a solution?

Can't you share two small portions? And certain things are great to make warm again at home. Maybe not chips. But were there chips every day? Sheep are all about the money and food waste is not an issue...

Doesn't exist here (anymore) and is extremely expensive. At these prices, a normal menu is even cheaper.

No, because my husband doesn't eat things that I like. And if we used to eat there relatively often (and now we can't), then the 25% less is not worth it in a situation that is difficult for me to assess. And it's not even about what else is going on. I made an agreement, it was accepted and I finally felt that my problem was being taken seriously. So far, I was the only one who had the problem and had asked for help. Because all the other options weren't viable for me. And now the new boss is dismissing me as some stupid nut who wouldn't have any other problems. And what would happen if everyone got their wish? It's about something that was okay for the restaurant for a good 2 years. And as soon as a new boss arrives, he offers suggestions that the restaurant never offers and simply says no to them. Of course, Migros is not a restaurant that relies on customers. Nevertheless, I don't find that customer-friendly.
