There are practical reasons for this: Sauces can be kept in aluminum tubes for a comparatively long time and the tubes are easy to transport."

Well, if you wanted to take everything into consideration, you wouldn't be able to eat anything without hesitation in the end. This is a difficult subject, like so many things these days.
I just thought that plastic tubes weren't as bad as aluminum. Glass containers would be best. But yes, Istanbul, I'm aware that aluminum has all these good properties so that the product has a long shelf life and retains its taste.
To be honest, it was too tedious for me to list all the good features of the Alutube again. My question can be deleted, it was apparently a stupid question.

Sustainability considerations play just as much a role in the choice of packaging material as the question of how well the packaging protects the product. Packaging may sometimes appear less sustainable at first glance. However, if it protects the product better and causes less product spoilage, it is sometimes the better choice in the end.
I can assure you that we are also very concerned about this topic.

@SB2112 Spices, fats and similar things can dissolve plastic and form substances together with the plastic, or dissolve out of the plastic, which are better not to eat. The whole thing is so "uncontrollable" that plastic packaging should be avoided. Glass jars are ideal for packaging .... but even then the lid is not entirely unproblematic.
