I don't understand why they advertise Alnatura coconut water so much. Longer transportation route for organic?
And why do you have to make a straw for packaging that is in itself environmentally friendly?

Hello everyone
So, now I have answers to your questions. I have tried to summarize them, I hope that I can answer them all.
Transportation of coconut water
We have a detailed answer for you: Migros offers a very wide range of products, including many exotic, difficult or short-life products. There are therefore also products that have a long transportation route. As we attach great importance to sustainable products, we also aim to shorten transportation routes wherever possible, but this is not always possible. Our customers' needs are also very important to us. However, the CO2 balance of a product is not only determined by the mode of transportation, but also depends to a large extent on the production method.
In organic farming, business is conducted in harmony with nature. The following goals apply:
The focus of organic farming is therefore on cultivation and not on transportation. However, Migros organic products may not be flown if possible.
Thanks to the transparent declaration of origin on the product or at the point of sale and the declaration of goods flown, our customers have enough information to make their own personal purchasing decision. Migros also endeavors to source imported products from sustainable cultivation and local sources wherever possible.
Important: Wherever possible, we replace air freight with alternative means of transportation or origins. If this is not possible, we declare the products transparently and give customers freedom of choice.
And last but not least: All flown products at Migros are CO2-compensated with our partner myclimate. This means that we save all the CO2 that we release through air transportation in corresponding climate protection projects in our own supply chains.
Tube/straw issue from the Alnatura commercial
You're absolutely right, it's really not ideal for the protagonist to drink from a straw and it doesn't fit in with Migros' sustainability principles. As it looks more visually appealing when the woman drinks from a straw than from the large opening, this was used in the commercial. In future, we will take better care to ensure that the sustainability principles are consistently followed in our communication.
Alnatura organic standards
Migros customers can find a wide range of organic products in our range. We mainly offer such products under our own Migros-Bio label and under the Alnatura brand.
The Migros organic range currently comprises around 1'800 food products. This includes over 1'300 Migros-Bio articles and around 350 Alnatura products, as well as around 150 articles from other organic brands. With this range, Migros is able to offer organic alternatives in all product areas and thus meet the customer demand for 'more organic'.
For products and raw materials that traditionally come from Swiss agriculture, we focus on our Migros-Bio label. Almost 100% of our organic meat, organic milk, organic cheese and organic dairy products come from Switzerland. Around 80% of organic bread and organic flour and around 70% of organic fruit and vegetables come from Switzerland, depending on the season. We source all organic raw materials from Switzerland from Bio Suisse-certified farms.
Under the Alnatura brand, we offer long-life organic products in particular. These meet the minimum requirements of the EU Organic Regulation (which is equivalent to the Swiss Organic Regulation), but we also offer products with organic labels such as Demeter, Bioland or Naturland. The Alnatura range is very diverse, with a strong focus on vegetarian and vegan products such as rice, oat and soy drinks, various spreads or tofu and other meat substitutes. The Alnatura range should be seen as a supplement to our own Migros-Bio brand; Alnatura products are by no means preferred to Migros-Bio or Swiss organic products.
Kind regards

Yes, Migros "endeavors to source products as locally as possible". China is apparently also "close by" for Migros!
