I have long wondered why there is no department for alcoholic beverages. It would be quite appropriate without damaging the image. I'm sure that normal beer sells better than non-alcoholic.
In the shopping centers, there is usually a Denner, which nowadays also belongs to Migros, right next to Migros.
Since Denner is allowed to sell alcohol and Tuback, I find the argument with the statutes hypocritical, all the more so as Globus, which also belongs to the M family, also sells a lot of alcohol.

I think it's absolutely fine if Migros doesn't sell alcohol or tobacco. As far as I'm concerned, the branded goods area could also be thinned out. An article in 20 Min http://www.20min.ch/finance/news/story/Migros-will-gegen-4000-Artikel-streichen-25068789 also points out the problem of Migros selling too many items. But if it were only about profit, 20% of the sales area would quickly be reserved for wine and spirits, as we know it from Denner. That would be a shame.

Hello, Migrolino also belongs to the Mogros, they have longer opening hours and are located at train stations. They sell alcoholic beverages.
I wonder why Migrolino sells alcohol and the same Migros store where there is a Suppermart doesn't?

Hello everyone
Thank you very much for your interest. We would like to comment on the fundamental issue of alcohol sales in Migros:
Migros continues to sell neither alcohol nor tobacco in its stores. In line with Gottlieb Duttweiler's principles, we will continue to adhere to this policy.
However, following an in-depth discussion, the Assembly of Delegates of the Federation of Migros Cooperatives decided to allow the sale of alcoholic beverages in the golf clubs operated by Migros and in individual leisure facilities. This decision is supported by the majority.
The Migrolino petrol station stores are not Migros branches, but the petrol station leaseholders are partners of Migrol AG, an autonomous company of the Migros Community. As partners, the leaseholders have various contractual relationships with Migrol. Some are franchisees who, on the one hand, stock Migros products at Migros prices and, on the other, can determine part of the product range themselves.
The situation is similar with the Migros partners and VOI branches as well as the Migrolino station stores: they also stock a more or less large Migros range, supplemented by non-Migros articles as well as alcoholic beverages and tobacco products.
