Someone who says that a wholesaler simply MUST stock alcoholic beverages today (read in 20 Minuten of November 8, 2021, page 13), attests to having "zero access" to the Migros culture; negates the value of a philanthropic attitude to life in society! This culture was introduced by Gottlieb and Adele Duttweiler, the founders of the Migros cooperative and the idea of social capital.
And the statement that a major distributor today must sell alcohol is evidence of a cultural vacuum for which it should be "ashamed into the ground". Despite, or precisely because of the aforementioned philanthropic shackle, Migros has become much more than just the largest major distributor in Switzerland! The ideas of Gottlieb and Adele Duttweiler have become effective in Switzerland through direct democracy, in the state not just through economic forces. The fact that Migros itself is now voicing the opinion that Migros should be allowed to sell alcohol is an absolute swan song to the culture introduced by the founding father Duttweiler, at a time when this no longer gives the group any market advantages, because the group itself is now the owner of at least one other large Swiss distributor that sells alcohol! Dutweiler's claim that Migros does not sell luxury foods that are detrimental to public health corresponded to a noble philanthropic attitude. What a cultural loss! Yikes! I'm already having to think about whether I shouldn't migrate to Lidel and ALDI as a customer! Greetings, U. Ulrich
