Promotions in the Migros app

Aktionen in der Migros App

Unfortunately, only some of the actions are listed in the app. There is no recognizable logic. This week, for example, some of the promotions on a Migros magazine page are available in the app, while others are not. At Coop, on the other hand, I can always find everything in the app. Why can't Migros do this? I don't always read the Migros magazine and if the competition manages to show me all their promotions in the app, I'll end up doing my weekly shop at the competition because some products are more advantageous there than at Migros, which doesn't show me all the promotions.

Hi galleria, thanks for your contribution. Migros has both regional and national promotions. Unfortunately, we are therefore unable to display all the articles shown in the M magazine in the app. Those responsible have been informed of your comment. We will continue to work on this issue and will introduce appropriate improvements if possible. Kind regards, Luisa

Hello Luisa,
Thank you for your reply. My observation has nothing to do with regional promotions. This week, for example, there are the following promotions in Migros throughout Switzerland:
Coffee 30%
Frey chocolates 20
Tempo 40 %
I can't find any of these promotions on the app's promotions page. I have the impression that either they don't want to show everything in the app (the competition is happy) or they don't have a concept for it. A look at the competition's apps shows that all competitors can actually do better. The sorting is also strange: organic pasta is followed by baby socks with rattles, then bread etc., socks, briefs, flowers, party nuts and so on, which is also Migros' own logic.
For the time being, I'm sticking to the Coop app for my weekly shopping, where the promotions are listed in a complete and logical order based on the selected store.
Kind regards
Ernst

Hello galleria, we absolutely agree with you, the display is not satisfactory at the moment. Unfortunately, there is a technical reason for this and we have not yet found a solution. Unfortunately, not all actions can be displayed correctly at the moment. However, we are working on this and hope to be able to improve it as soon as possible. Kind regards, Madlen

Hello Madlen
Thank you for your reply. I'll wait and see, until then "no M better" applies.
If the M computer scientists don't manage it, I have a simple, immediately realizable and inexpensive suggestion: Take the PDF of the Migros magazine, remove the pages with the editorial contributions and third-party advertisements, then the pages with the promotions and news remain. Save these pages as a new PDF and offer them as a document for download in the Migros app. This is how the competition in Germany does it, for example, take a look at the apps from Marktkauf or Edeka, the document is called "digital flyer" there and is nothing more than the paper version of the weekly promotions, simply stored in the app.
Kind regards
Ernst

@galleria

The PDF is basically a good idea, but it is likely to be quite time-consuming and complicated: Each of the regional cooperatives has its own campaigns in addition to the nationwide ones. The campaign pages therefore differ from region to region. You would therefore have to create several PDFs and import them into the app for each address.

The Migros magazine is already available as a PDF for each region. It should be no problem at all to produce a PDF with the promotion pages from this. An estimated 95% of the promotions are identical throughout Switzerland anyway. And the app already knows the user's location via the Cumulus link. Or, for example, you can now offer the option of storing a standard branch, as Coop or competitors from Germany do.
The decisive factor is simply how the various data is stored and linked together in Migros. It gives the impression that the app is a hand-knitted, isolated solution, otherwise the problem would have been solved long ago. As the competitors show, it can be done without any problems, but it depends on the capabilities of Migros' internal IT infrastructure, although of course I can't judge how up to date it is.

Hi galleria, good idea! We will be happy to inform the relevant specialists about your suggestion. However, we ask for your understanding if this is not implemented immediately or at all. Kind regards, Luisa
