Advertising everywhere, fruit and vegetables for only 1 Fr. Last week butternut squash only 1 Fr., not available in "my" Migros. I asked again today and was told that there had been delivery problems and that the pumpkin had not been delivered to other stores either. Why such a campaign? There are always items missing, although the more expensive variety is usually available. Coincidence?

I've also noticed that there have been a lot of things on promotion recently that are then not (or no longer) available on the shelves (because it says "delivery interruption" on the rack or because there are other delivery problems); they are then not available in various Migros stores. To be honest, as a customer, I feel a bit taken for a ride... It's not only the case with promotions like this, but also with new products that are advertised with 20x Cumulus points. Such products are often only available in the second (of two) promotion weeks, and even then not in every Migros, but usually only in larger stores (you can never rely on the unreliable store availability on the website anyway), and often there are only a few of them and then they say they are unfortunately already sold out, new delivery will follow (of course when the 20x Cumulus promotion no longer applies)...
Hello Masyra, thank you for your message. I'm sorry that you weren't able to benefit from the promotion. Given the frequency you describe, I understand your disappointment and your suspicion that not everything is above board. As far as the butternut squash is concerned, we were literally overrun. The demand was huge. Despite our optimistic quantity planning, we hadn't expected this. Bodenseeknusperli is already addressing the issue: We plan our promotions well in advance. Unfortunately, the repeat orders would not have reached us in time. However, we don't want to "lure" anyone into the stores in vain with such offers - even though I can understand your thoughts, . However, the arrangements are time-consuming and sometimes take place far in advance. It is important to bear in mind that there should never be a shortage in any store. For this reason, we consult the sales figures of similar campaigns that have already been carried out during the preparations. This allows us to estimate the quantity that our customers are likely to purchase. Nevertheless, we admit that supply bottlenecks etc. present us with a challenge to which we are ultimately no longer able to respond. : I think your suggestion regarding a clearly visible alternative on the shelf is very good. That's why I submitted it to our specialist department. Perhaps those responsible would like to take it up in a similar form. I hope these lines are informative for you. Kind regards, Tabea
I think the problem is that promotions are planned weeks in advance and posters etc. are printed. It can happen that something is not available. But I think it's more likely to be a bait-and-switch offer - stores don't get enough - it's already sold out on the first day of the promotion after 10 minutes - but people are still lured into the store. What I find good at Coop, for example, when there are competitions where you get free products, there's a sticker on the rack with "replacement product" when it's out. Every now and then I see an empty space with free coffee capsules and then take the alternative, or just take the replacement because it's more appealing, I think it's a great solution. Maybe Migros could offer an alternative to choose from at a promotional price if delivery is interrupted?
Yes, I think the substitute products in Coop competitions are a great idea. It would be great if Migros could also introduce this for their 1 Fr. vegetable/fruit promotions in case they are sold out. Then you'd have an alternative and wouldn't be frustrated if the actual promotional product was already sold out the day after the promotion started.

Hello smartcoyote, as Tabea has informed you, we have gladly placed this input with the specialist department. We can't promise you that it will be implemented, but we'll keep our fingers crossed that it works. Best regards, Mia
