Hello LORENZINI, thank you for your contribution. The additives in the Farmer Choc cookie do not present any health risk. Indeed, additives knowingly added to food must not endanger our health. Additives approved by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Federal Department of Home Affairs (FDHA) are therefore risk-free. They are among the most closely scrutinized substances in our diet, and are only authorized if rigorous toxicological tests have proven their safety. When it comes to the use of additives, Migros applies the principle of "as much as necessary, as little as possible". Here are two examples. First example: the chocolate we use contains the emulsifier soy lecithin. Emulsifiers are substances which combine characteristics comparable to those of water, but also to those of lipids. In this way, they stabilize mixtures of water and fat (emulsions). In chocolate, they reduce friction between solids (such as sugar, milk powder and cocoa particles) and cocoa butter. As a result, chocolate becomes more liquid and its texture more pleasant to the palate. Second example: the cookie contains the additive E500: bicarbonate of soda, which is an integral part of baking powder and indispensable for cookie production. Best regards, Luisa
