Yesterday I received an email. At first glance, everything looks like it’s from Migros. The email promises a free grocery box if you take part in the survey. To do so, you’d have to follow a link.
But only when you take a closer look can you tell that the email is actually a phishing attempt.

These kinds of emails are now coming from every major company that many people use, including SBB, Swisscom, Coop, Digitec... etc.
-> Always check the sender—hover your mouse over it and see if it’s coming from the correct @migros.ch address (in this case)
-> Always check if the email addresses you by name (though it could still be a phishing attempt even then—e.g., “Ricardo”)
-> Check the link: if it doesn’t include migros.ch, don’t open it—just close the email
-> Forward the email to feedback@cybercrimepolice.ch. Send it as is if you’re unsure; if you want a reply, include a message.
And last but not least:
NO, nothing is free—ever.
