Regular coffee drinkers in the M-Restaurant have to buy a coffee booklet, as in Gotthelf's time, which has to be paid for in cash. Why is there no way of doing this in a more modern way? I'm thinking of the stamp cards or the Café Royal that was introduced a few years ago?

According to the feedback we have received from the cooperatives, they have been looking for a more modern coffee collection card for some time. Unfortunately, there is no standardized national solution yet. The Lucerne cooperative, for example, has decided to introduce POINZ points, which can be collected using an app. If you are not yet familiar with the system, you are welcome to check it out on your next visit. The other cooperatives you mentioned still do not offer a digital solution. But the good news is: We are working on a solution here. Best regards, Chloe

Thanks Chloe for the answer - at least now I hope that there will be a standardized digital solution one day. When I was advertised in Bern a month ago with a coffee booklet, I said I wasn't from here, could I also use them in Eastern Switzerland (similar to the blue Cumulus vouchers)?

Well, the term "cooperatives - independent" can be used to justify anything and turn everything into an insurmountable obstacle.... What I have already seen on the subject of coffee booklets: -- Customer wants to buy coffee booklets and pay cashless, doesn't work because only cash barter is possible! -- Customer comes to closed checkout with coffee, wants to buy coffee booklets first and pay for this coffee with 1st voucher.... doesn't work because the actual coffee would have to be typed in first to open the cash register. But it would be simple instead of this exchange of coffee booklets for cash: -- You use Cumulus - regular customers have Cumulus -- Permanent stamp card (without explicit activation) adds up every coffee drunk (analogous to Cumulus stamp fever from Aug 2022 with the 3x,6x,9x) and you pay 10x - at the 11th coffee it goes BINGO at the cash register and the cashier tells you it's free....) What's complicated about it? Such a system is certainly less complicated (and costly) than this bartering with the booklets, which first have to be printed and stapled, distributed to the M restaurants, which have to be laboriously picked out of the "depths of the respective cash register", if nothing is found they have to be exchanged for cash with the colleague at the next checkout or even the customer has to be put off because they have "run out".... Let's be full of hope for a simple and sensible solution.... ;-)
