Iâve read through all the reviews (in my opinion, the new recipe has rightly âfailedâ) and I find it outrageous that such a poor product is being sold at all. (Although itâs been out of stock at my local store for a few days now)
The statement that there are no plans to return to the old formula is harsh and reflects Migrosâ business tactics. Iâve been a Migros customer since I was a toddlerâŠmany of my long-time favorite products have disappeared and been discontinued with no alternatives. In the latter part of my life, Iâll probably have to look even harder for alternatives to Migros.
Sorry, but this product is exactly what makes things more complicated for Migros. Do you think this product is unacceptable? This manufacturer produces cottage cheese for many supermarket chains. Strangely enough, Migros customers donât like the taste, but the many customers at other supermarket chains do? Iâve read quite a few reviews here of various products that get critical comments at Migros but receive great ratings at other retailers. In my opinion, itâs simply questionable what this has to do with business strategy. The cottage cheese and skyr markets have grown extremely rapidly in recent years. As Migros has noted here, production facilities are operating at full capacity due to high demandâyouâve probably noticed the gaps on the cottage cheese shelf. Certain newspapers are reporting an increase of over 30%.... Instead of Migros offering AHA cottage cheeseâsince AHA cottage cheese certainly sells significantly less than the regular kindâthey carry the ZĂŒger brand. As mentioned above, ZĂŒger is highly praised by many people. So saying âsuch a bad product is being soldâ is clearly an exaggeration...
Itâs not just Migros doing thisâmany retailers in Europe are doing the same.
The protein market has grown significantly in Europe. Whey, skyr, and cottage cheese are therefore in short supply. If Elsa were to resume production of cottage cheese, the regular product line would also be affected, and supply shortages would occur again.
Lidl, for example, carries skyr from Germany. Thatâs why Lidl can cover the skyr market with many different manufacturers. If Migros were to offer skyr from Germany, there would be a huge outcry about why they arenât supporting Swiss dairy farmers.
Coop is also often criticized in this regard, but significantly less so than Migros.

The new cottage cheese recipe ("New Quality") tastes the same as the one sold at Alnatura until the end of 2025, and the packaging has also been adapted to match. In order to ensure product availability and continue to offer a reliable range, we had to resort to a replacement supplier for aha! cottage cheese. We made this decision due to capacity constraints in our own production. This has resulted in a slight change to the recipe. The taste has become more neutral and milky, and the texture contains softer grains. Best regards, your M-Infoline team
