Good morning, once you open the package how long will it keep? should it be kept in the refrigerator?

Hi Elidinuovo, it is not possible to make a general statement about the shelf life of a product after it has been opened. Many factors are then responsible for the shelf life of an opened product that cannot be influenced during production. In general, it is important for shelf life that the tahini is always removed with a clean spoon and that the layer of oil that forms remains on the puree. The oil protects against atmospheric oxygen and is simply stirred in before consumption. After removal, close the jar tightly with the lid. Tahin can be made either outside or in the refrigerator. If stored in the refrigerator, the consistency may become slightly firmer. Note that it should be stored in the dark and without direct exposure to heat. In our experience, Alnatura tahin can still be eaten and consumed several weeks after opening if handled and stored properly. Best regards, Your M-Infoline Team

Hello In recent weeks, several wholesalers have recalled a number of sesame products because residues of a pesticide have been detected. Has Alnatura's tahini sesame butter been tested? Can it be consumed without hesitation? Thank you in advance for your serious assessment. Kind regards Simone Mathys

Hello Simone2013, thank you for your inquiry. There were rapid warnings and product recalls for sesame from India due to the detection of ethylene oxide. Alnatura tahini is not affected by this, as this sesame does not come from India. You can therefore consume the product without hesitation. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Hello, the sesame puree has not been available for several weeks. Do you know why? And do we know when a restocking is planned? Thank you!

Hello LouiseDehoy, thank you very much for your request. We are unfortunately experiencing a delivery interruption for sesame puree. We apologize for the inconvenience. We are pleased to inform you that this product will probably be available again towards the end of the month. With best regards, your M-Infoline team

I recently discovered tahini butter by chance in a Migros supermarket. Why isn't it on the shelf with the almond butter/peanut butter/cashew butter etc.? I would have found it there long ago.

Hello duda, we're sorry you can't find the Alnatura Tahin sesame butter straight away. We mainly use sesame butter to refine dips such as hummus, sauces and savory dishes. For this reason, you won't find it in the baking and breakfast spreads. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Good day. I can't find any information on how to prepare it. Does this tahini paste need to be "stretched" with lemon juice or water, as is often the case with products from the Middle East?

Hello CES, thank you for your inquiry. You can enjoy the Alnatura tahini sesame butter straight away, without adding any additional stabilizers. We deliberately avoid adding stabilizers. This means that the sesame oil can settle. Stirring makes the puree creamy again. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Where should I look for the tahini sesame butter in the store?

Hello nonnigirl, thank you for your interest. You can find the Alnatura tahini sesame paste in the Alnatura products such as spreads, curry in a jar, coconut milk etc. We also have a similar product, Al Fez Tahini Paste(https://migipedia.migros.ch/de/al-fez-tahini-paste), which can be found in the India range. The best thing to do is to ask a colleague from your regular store which shelves these ranges can be found on. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Dear panda87, we use the sesame butter to refine dips such as oriental hummus, sauces and savory dishes. We would be happy to send you a recipe for hummus (4 portions). Ingredients: 1 jar of chickpeas, 3 tbsp olive oil, 4 tbsp lemon juice, 2 tbsp tahini, 2-3 garlic cloves, 3 tbsp chopped parsley, salt and pepper to taste. Preparation: Puree the chickpeas with the tahini sesame butter, garlic, lemon juice and olive oil in a blender. Stir in the parsley. Season to taste with salt, pepper and a little cumin if required. Tip: 250g dried chickpeas can be used instead of the jarred chickpeas. Soak the chickpeas in water overnight and cook with 500 ml fresh water and a little salt for approx. 60 mins. En Guete!
