Unfortunately, it doesn't last eight hours because the wick isn't placed properly; it bends or is too short. It's made in China. This probably explains why. And yet, it was very practical, especially in winter, to have a few candles at night and even during the day, to light and warm a room and create a warm atmosphere.
Rubbish! Burn poorly due to poor quality wick. Do not buy!
