The coffee balls are intended for use in the CoffeeB system.
When using them, dry hangings are advantageous as these coffee balls are intended for direct composting after use and are only protected by a very thin water-soluble film and remain in shape.
The cardboard box is well suited for storage after the pack has been opened and protects against indirect moisture
Taste:
Espresso Classico. Intensity: 5/9 - has a good taste, also because 100% Arabica coffee is used according to the manufacturer.
This taste is not the same as an original Italian espresso, the intensity of 5 out of 9 is too low for this.
The crema lasts about 3 minutes. The good taste is retained even when cold.
This espresso is well suited to afternoon coffee.
Appearance:
The finished coffee appears strong, as expected from a "light" espresso.
Special feature:
Additional test: Use as filter coffee - crush halved coffee balls and pour into filter.
As the coffee is brewed open, it has a slightly bitter note, which remains the same when cold.
Therefore only conditionally suitable for filleting machines (conventional).
Sustainability:
The scalded coffee balls are intended for direct composting (cooled) and can therefore be safely disposed of as organic waste.
The packaging is made of cardboard and is intended for paper collection; the protective film should be disposed of in residual waste (combustible, but not water-soluble).
Very good medium strength coffee. For lungo and espresso. Unfortunately, the ILLY packs all look almost the same. A little more difficult for customers to distinguish.
