They are simply better fresh
Best ready to eat Chestnuts in my opinion. Just moist enough to nut feel dried out and of course very tasty.
Excellent taste, no added sugar. Can be eaten as a snack or as an accompaniment to any sweet or savory meal (with Brussels sprouts, for example). I highly recommend this product.
As for the price, once you've bought raw chestnuts, split them, cooked them, burned your fingers peeling them and removed all the glassy chestnuts, I think the price is right!

Good pity they ran out right away
The smell when opening the packet and the taste take some getting used to compared to fresh chestnuts. In addition, the ones in my batch were far too blotchy, brown and softly cooked; very different from the packaging photo.
