What are Migros product reviews all about?
Philipp_Migros
You've probably already wondered what Migros product reviews are all about. Why do we encourage you to improve your shopping in the Sunday Migros Newsletter, on the Migros app and sometimes also via social media? Believe it or not, your product reviews are important to us so that we can improve our products and better understand what's important to you. Nevertheless, it's obvious that a single one-star rating doesn't immediately set alarm bells ringing. However, if negative feedback builds up, our product managers spring into action. Speaking of product managers: Every day we send some 450 Migros staff in different areas those product reviews that are relevant for them. Change takes time. The same goes for our products. That's why, for a number of reasons, we can't always react immediately and change a product. Even so, I've put together a few examples from recent years to show we take your feedback seriously, and that it makes a difference.
Party pretzels, M-Budget toast, toothpaste, and more
For various reasons, we decided a few years ago to make our salted party pretzels abroad. We were also able to offer them at a lower price. However, the quality wasn't great, which we clearly noticed in our product reviews. So we brought production back to Switzerland. More or less the same thing applies to M-Budget light and dark toast. Take a look at our salad dressing shelf, and you'll notice we also stock half-liter bottles. That too is thanks to your feedback. Have any of you ever forgotten to remove the transparent film on the end of a toothpaste tube? Thanks to you, it's no longer transparent. Personally, I got annoyed several times that our puff pastry always stuck together. I wasn't the only one. You told us the same thing, as a result of which we noticed the flour quality had changed, prompting us to modify the so-called water quantity. These are just a few examples of many that show how valuable your product reviews are to us. Believe it or not, it's clear that whenever we optimize our products based on your feedback, this also has a positive effect on Migros' sales in the long term. That's why we would like to say a big thank you from all of us at this point.
OK, but ...
Product reviews are thus a kind of "fuel" driving the optimization of our products. Of course, other aspects also play a role, but let's focus on your reviews. To ensure there is enough "fuel" and as many Migros products as possible are reviewed, we actively encourage you to rate your purchases. We do this in our Sunday Migros Newsletter and relatively regularly on the Migros app and via social media. Whenever possible, we only show you products on Migipedia.ch that you actually bought. Sure, we sometimes also recommend products you've given away or not even tried yet. And that's exactly what I'd like to say a few words about at the end of this article. Those who are particularly satisfied with or really disappointed by a (Migros) product will always find a way to let the company know. But we don't just want to hear about the best and the worst. We want all kinds of reviews. 😉 That's why we use the newsletter and the Migros app to promote this. And whenever we use these channels, some people write reviews that aren't useful to either us or other customers.
To finish, I have another request and a huge thank you. When writing product reviews, please put yourself in the reader's shoes. What might he or she be interested in? What aspects would you like to emphasize in your evaluation: The quality, taste, packaging or just the appearance? Maybe the fit, if we're not thinking about food. You know, we get enough ratings, so the "fuel" is flowing. But maybe it could be of a little higher quality in future. Would you help me with this? Thanks! I've been doing my job at Migros and therefore Migipedia.ch for over nine years now, and I still really enjoy it. That's thanks to all of you on here; the writers and readers on the forum, the reviewers and all our testers. Thank you very much for your commitment.
Best regards
Philipp
