Open sandwiches and rolls often hard

Offenbrot und Brötli oft hart

If you put a Weggli in the bag in the open shop, you don't know how long it has been on the shelf. I recently bought three of them and only when I got home did I realize that they were as dry as if they were from the day before. A butter rye in the open shop was hard, the same rye packed in a bag was as it should be. The display of doughnuts, Danish pastries etc. is also exposed to the dry air. Apart from the fact that I have already observed how shoppers pick up the goods and then put them back again. Yikes! According to the bakery, the products are placed on the open shelves a few hours before the store opens. No wonder that after so many hours without packaging, the goods are dried out and hard. How about boxes that are closed all the way round and the customer can open the lid and take out their biscuits?

@amiya I completely agree with you. I've also often found dry bread rolls etc. in various Migros branches... If the baker (in Migros with a bakery, e.g. Migros Brunaupark) isn't bringing a fresh batch of rolls etc., then I prefer not to eat them lately. I lose my appetite even more when I see shoppers touching and bagging bread rolls with their fingers instead of tongs, only to put them back with their fingers because they don't want them after all, or because they have seen that they are dry. Lidl and Aldi sometimes "store" such bread rolls etc. in closed boxes that you have to open and which are heated, or then in boxes with an opening. I have rarely found dry bread rolls at Lidl and Aldi. They manage to ensure that the rolls are not too dry even in the evening. It would be nice if Migros could do the same.

So glad I'm not alone with this opinion 😀

And in Wil, the breads that the bakery only has to bake are far too underbaked. They are pale, totally soft and doughy

Hello smartcoyote, thank you very much for your message. The idea with the boxes is interesting, but currently not feasible in our store concept. However, we are working on a project to ensure that the right bread rolls are increasingly available fresh at the right time. Of course, it is very important to us that our products reach our customers fresh. Kind regards, Richi

Dear Luisa What do you think I did first? If you had read my first report, you would know. It's answers like this that make me never buy open sandwiches from Migros again. And I won't be making any more announcements in future and will leave the products behind, no matter what they are. You have already filed this situation in the circular file because you honestly don't care. Fortunately, there are lots of great bakeries I can go to. I wish you a happy life.
