Migros has already answered this question for other products. The lid has been replaced with aluminum, allegedly for recycling and greenwashing, but Migros is now selling unnecessary silicone lids with which to close the product. The best-before date is no longer visible, but that doesn't matter to Migros.

Hello Zimt1, thank you for your inquiry. We made a change as the current market is moving towards packaging reduction and reusable lids. The aluminum lid is recyclable. The PET lid, on the other hand, had to be disposed of in household waste.

After opening the packaging, whether aluminum or plastic lid, the product must be consumed quickly, so I don't understand what the best-before date has to do with the packaging.

That can't be right, dear Migros, that you have to buy an extra silicone lid, I think it's idiotic, we customers just have to put up with it once again.
