Hello, if the sausage meat or sausage product has seasoning as an ingredient, does this contain gluten or only if it is listed in brackets? Our child does not tolerate gluten or milk proteins, hence my question. Thank you very much for your feedback.

Hello ErikaMama, if a product contains gluten-containing ingredients, this must be openly declared, stating the gluten-containing cereals (wheat, spelt, rye, barley, oats, etc.). In addition, ingredients containing gluten must be highlighted in the list of ingredients, for example in bold print or with capital letters (examples: wheat starch, WHEAT flour). Traces due to possible carry-over in the manufacturing process must be indicated at the end of the list of ingredients with a "may contain" note ("may contain gluten" or "may contain traces of gluten"). Also important to know: Spices are gluten-free by definition. Seasoning mixes, bouillon etc. may contain gluten, but this would then have to be declared (e.g. seasoning mix (with wheat starch)). One more thing about seasoning: Seasoning, listed as an ingredient and without any further reference to gluten-containing ingredients, is considered gluten-free. The same applies to milk: if the seasoning contained milk, it would say: Wort (contains milk). Best regards, your M-Infoline team
