My Migipedia update posts have been quiet for a long time. So I'm all the more pleased to be able to present a real enrichment for the Migipedia forum with this one. The Migipedia forum now has new categories: "Products", "Shopping", "Cumulus", "Migipedia" and "General". From now on, you may, can or must select one of the five categories when entering new posts. We assume that most posts will end up in the "Products" category. However, we are convinced that the categories will create more order and clarity in the forum. By the way, you can now also use the search function in combination with the categories. If you are on the forum homepage, select the "Migipedia" category and search for "Update", you will only find discussions containing "Update" in future.Which category for what?If your posts are about product requests, product questions and other suggestions relating to our products, then "Products" is the right category. Your experiences with shopping, self-checkout, etc. belong in the "Shopping" category in our eyes. "Cumulus" is the category for vouchers, digital coupons, the Cumulus credit card - everything to do with our bonus program. Migipedia" is for discussions about the Migros community and this website. And if you're not sure or want to launch a different topic, choose "General".What about the old posts?The new categories are forward-looking for the time being. This means that they will be used when new posts are created. In the last 12 Migipedia years, we have collectively started over 8300 discussions. It simply wasn't possible for us to categorize them all at the start of the categories. But we are working on it. We're categorizing a few every day and I'll be finished by the time I retire in 2046. Joking aside: Yes, we are also categorizing the old posts, but not all of them immediately. I hope you can understand that. By the way, moderators will still be able to move posts to other categories in the future. However, we will only do this after consultation with you or if you explicitly request it. You will also have noticed that we have modernized the forum interface. However, all the functions you are familiar with are still there, they just look a little different. I would prefer you to do the categorization yourself, why? You yourself mention that most posts fall into the "Products" category, so you would have a good way of sorting out the posts that have been posted in large numbers and the "ordinary reader" could skip these posts and not be bothered with the same topics in all variations: I'm thinking of topics such as "vegan", "hollow noodles" Once these same old topics have been "discussed", you could certainly transfer them back to the main topic of "products". I would wager a lot: the same old topics would suddenly decrease because the normal reader would no longer be bothered by this need or even urge "back to number 1" and it would make no sense to always pick up the same topic in a new thread in the same subject area.... This is just a thought. Incidentally, the online press also does this with its own articles and makes them available to its readers: "Coronavirus", "Ukraine", "Olympics" ... and when the topic is over, the corresponding category tab also drops.

The font is 2-3 points too large in contrast to when you open a post and the font is then much smaller again. So it doesn't help if I zoom out because the posts are then much too small in comparison. I would therefore be very happy if the font size on the main page could be reduced a little to make it look more harmonious. I also find the positioning of the tiles unattractive. The tiles of the user contributions end on the right-hand side at the height of the "Start new discussion" tile. This leaves the space below this tile completely empty. Therefore, I would first and foremost welcome it if the tiles of the posts on the right-hand side were lengthened so that they end flush with the aforementioned tile on the right (then it would possibly also look more harmonious with the current font size). Or, you could fill this empty space under the "Start new discussion" tile with 2-3 additional tiles that are the same height as the user post tiles.
