We are hard at work. My colleagues have created and implemented a new Migipedia layout over the last few weeks. The first two page types have been completed: the homepage and the product detail page. I would like to introduce you to both of them, but first a few words about why we are working on a new look. There are many reasons. Of course, the Migros strategy, technology and web analytics figures play a role. But these reasons alone are not enough. In spring 2023, we conducted interviews with various Migipedia users and set them tasks to solve on Migipedia.ch. We learned a lot in the process and also identified some weaknesses in the current website. We didn't work on the functionalities, but on how and where we present them on Migipedia.ch. So now to the two types of pages that you can already see.The new Migipedia homepageBased on interviews with various Migipedia users, combined with web analytics figures, we realized that the current homepage lacks focus. Where should you click and why should you click? We have tidied things up. The revised search and, if you are logged in, a large teaser play a central role. The search now not only searches products, but also community content. Further down you will find - again depending on whether you are logged in or not - products from your last purchases as well as products that you have bought frequently recently. In addition, everyone has the opportunity to discover promotions, regardless of whether they are logged in or not. That's almost it for the home page for now. The navigation remains almost the same except for two changes. The forum will now also be called "Forum" and no longer "Discuss", the exchange market will disappear from the navigation, but the activity stream will now be part of it. The rules of the game, the language change and other topics can be found at the end of the website. Let's continue with the productdetailpages.The new Migipedia product detail pageThe feedback from Migipedia users here: The products and the reviews are too far apart. In some cases, additional references to other products, product tests or similar distract from the essentials, namely your opinions on our products. That's why we've rearranged the information here too and generally kept everything a little more compact. Additional product information such as "sustainability", "ingredients" or "nutritional values" has been collapsed. However, if this information is important to you, you can open it once; the next time you visit a product detail page, it will be visible from the start.What happens nextBefore I tell you what happens next with the new look, I would like to say a few words about how you can access the new pages. Of course, you can access the start page and the new product detail pages (e.g. M-Classic Yoghurt Mocha) by clicking here. You will also find a note on the current home page and the current product detail pages at the top of the logo. The new pages will then open in a new tab so that you can easily jump back and forth between old and new. The pages are already fully functional. This means, for example, that you can rate a product or ask a question. On the new home page and on the new product detail pages, we will display a message after a few seconds reminding you to give us feedback. After all, we want you to have a say in the new Migipedia design this time too. Step by step, we will continue to paint, incorporating our observations and measurements as well as your feedback. In our eyes, this step-by-step cooperation has several advantages. Most importantly, you can accompany us along the way from the very beginning. We are also convinced that you will feel at home on the new Migipedia pages more quickly. We look forward to your feedback on the newly painted pages via the form or, of course, here in the forum.
