The media are currently discussing job cuts at Migros Head Office (FMC). As Migipedians, we always have good ideas and good discussions. Where do you think Migros could do better?
Here are my points:
Positioning:
What does Migros stand for? A large discount store? A la Kaufland? Or supermarket?
Prices?
Duttweiler campaigned for low prices! In recent years I have hardly seen any great commitment (apart from the 1 franc weeks) to low prices. Although here is one point that speaks in favor of Migros and against Coop. Cheap is always associated with Migros instead of Coop.
Coop has weekend promotions. Coop is more aggressive with fruit and vegetable promotions....
Promotional newspaper:
As a customer, I would like a promotional newspaper. As a young customer, I'm not interested in the rest of the newspaper/Migros magazine.
Palm oil free:
As the first palm oil-free manufacturer in the world, Migros would cause a stir worldwide. And would achieve a lot. It would also put pressure on other manufacturers worldwide.
Abandonment of collection campaigns:
No more giving up collection campaigns. Use the money for free admission for children to certain places in Switzerland or use it for 10% days for customers
