A nuisance every year: plastic packaging for Fasnachtschüechli that tears even with the most careful attempt to open it and therefore no longer keeps the remaining Chüechli fresh. With the wave of sustainability, it would be a good idea to produce resealable recycled cardboard packaging, as with so many other types of packaging. That would be great, thank you 🤩

It's not just the case with the packaging at Migros, but also at Denner, Coop, etc. No matter where I've bought the Fasnachtschüechli, I've never managed to open the packaging so that it doesn't tear, no matter how careful I've been...

;-) I can easily manage these (https://produkte.migros.ch/mini-fasnachtschueechli) in one sitting, but the large ones (https://produkte.migros.ch/fasnachtschueechli) are a bit difficult to eat on my own ;-) But if you're in company, the big ones are no problem either ;-)

I have no problem opening the pack. Use scissors to cut open where the packaging film is sealed. This allows the box to be pulled out and the broken wrapper put back in without tearing the packaging

You're right, cutting open with scissors is an option. But I don't like to use scissors every time; I think it should be possible to make packaging that doesn't break every time I carefully tear it open... Even if I use the scissors, the film tears when I push it in and out... No matter what I've tried, the foil always ends up torn...
It should not just be about the type of packaging. The shape of the Fasnachtschüechli (round) causes unnecessary production costs/energy, as the exciting video shows. If a square shape were chosen, there would be no sections with repeated process runs. Both the operating times and the packaging volume could be reduced (larger pieces -> smaller number, lower pack height). Visually, the waves would then simply be arranged lengthwise and no longer in the shape of a "cake". The Fasnachtschüechli would also be delicious ;-)

Hello M-ega, thank you very much for the exciting input. Square Chüechli would be much more likely to break. The corners would also always get stuck somewhere, which would cause additional complications. You could save the leftover dough, but as this can usually be used again anyway, there is very little waste. Saving space in the box would certainly save a lot, but this could outweigh other complications in production. Nevertheless, we are taking this report seriously and are looking into how the problem can be resolved. Kind regards, Noemi
