It would certainly be in the interest of many forum participants if a thread were closed about a week after the last post and could not be taken up again after weeks or even months of interruption.

Today I happened to come across such an old thread:https://community.migros.ch/m/Forum-Migipedia/Cumulus-Punkte-Migros-Aare/td-p/681700/page/5... and I simply have to realize: The longer the break from the last thread, the greater the deviation from the original topic. In this case, there was an interruption of almost 6 months....

By the way: For me personally, the argument for switching off notifications!

Basically a good basic idea. However, Migipedia would be the right contact and not M-infoline.
Then comes the question: "Which threads can or should be closed?"
Your link is not an old thread and is still relevant. We'll see what happens after the anniversary year...
There are many threads, including very old ones, that could be closed, e.g. Migipedia...
Few threads are awakened from their slumber, as users tend to follow the creation dates, although it has happened that retired community managers have been contacted...

PS: All my notifications have been inactive for years.

Much more pressing for me than that of the "ancient threads" is the fact that the moderation does not merge duplicate threads such as the current surprise case. I wouldn't be surprised if the developers of this forum didn't even think of this practical function, which every other standard forum software has ;-)
