Canned tuna has been around for a long time, both in oil and in salt water. I am also aware that it is perhaps not the most praiseworthy way to consume canned fish. But as much as I love fresh fish, I have to admit that reaching for the tin is still very practical for me now and again, and a tuna mousse or tomato sauce with tuna tastes simply wonderful.

The choice of fresh fish from sustainable production has increased steadily and I really appreciate being able to choose as a consumer what type of fishing my fish comes from. However, I don't have this choice when it comes to canned fish. I would therefore be very happy if there was a canned tuna with an MSC or organic label. I prefer tuna in salt water, so I would like to be able to buy it as an MSC/organic product, but I am convinced that a similar product in oil would also find its customers.
