There are 6 people in my household, all of whom wear black Migros socks in various sizes.
It would be nice if the sock size was discreetly woven in somewhere (e.g. on the sole of the foot, on the inside cuff).

The woven size does not solve the problem of assignment. What if several people have the same size? Ultimately, however, this is just a matter of organization and thinking. For those who are not afraid of very little effort, I have three simple, practical solutions:
- The simplest and cheapest solution is to embroider the name or initials somewhere on the socks. This marks the socks and the owners are no longer mixed up. Girls used to be taught the art of embroidery at school, but you can also find instructions on the web.
- Another option is to use differently marked laundry nets. Each family member has their own net for their socks. A little discipline is then required when doing the laundry so that everything doesn't get mixed up again when drying. Laundry nets are very cheap and a wash-proof fabric pen doesn't cost much either.
- Then there are the sock clips in at least 6 different colors. Each family member then has their own color, but always has to remember the clip when taking off their socks and attach the dirty socks to it before they go into the wash. Drying is also easier because you can simply hang them on the line thanks to the clip. Sorting is no longer necessary because everyone can see their socks by the color of the clip and nothing gets lost. Because when washing machines are hungry, they only ever eat individual socks from different pairs. But the sock clips cost something and they are not available everywhere. The cheapest and easiest way is to order them from Ebay.de, Amazon or directly from China.

You can use it to "pin" pairs of socks together before washing so that you know which ones belong together.
I imagine this is really miserable with a machine full of smelly socks (my LAG and I both work in safety shoes) :-)

I ordered Sockstar® and they were in my letterbox the next day.
The black Venosan® 5002 compression stockings are marked with different symbols and colors on the label to make it easier to find them together after washing. No more: pull off; clip on; put in the laundry basket; wash in the washing machine; hang up and put away. Clips even for the funky socks that I wear over the black ones.
