Why doesn't Migros react immediately and stop the flow of horsemeat from the previous, cruel supplier?
Act, not promise, dear Migros

Hello migros1111
Thank you for your message. We think it's good when our customers also think about important issues such as animal welfare, species-appropriate husbandry and sustainability.
I asked the person responsible this morning what the current situation is with us.
Kind regards Tanja, Migipedia team

Hello migros111
I have clarified the matter. Migros has long been committed to animal welfare and species-appropriate husbandry.
For this reason, Migros imposed new requirements on the supplier of horsemeat in Canada in 2013 with regard to animal husbandry, transportation, slaughter and traceability. A new plant is currently being built for Migros on site in Alberta, Canada. The facility should be completed in summer 2014 and the first horses can be stabled. Migros has always kept the Zurich Animal Welfare Association (TSB) informed about the efforts on the ground in Canada; TSB has welcomed this project.
The images from Canada shown on Kassensturz on March 11, 2014 are horrific and will not be tolerated by Migros. With the construction of the new plant in Alberta Canada, our supplier has the opportunity to implement the specifications we have requested. Once construction is complete, acceptance and regular inspections will be carried out by independent bodies.
If our specifications are not implemented as planned and we do not achieve our goal of improving animal welfare, we will take the consequences and cut ties with Canada.
I hope you can understand this reaction.
Best regards Tanja, Migipedia team

Well, therefore only meat from the local Ross butcher...
to be honest, i consider the article in the current migrosmagazine "sustainable grilling" to be satire... pitch black!

Hello everyone
Some information that may be of interest to you: As Istanbul has already announced elsewhere in the forum, we have stopped working with our supplier from Canada.
