I would like to see more transparency from Migros. I think this is definitely a customer need these days, even if not all customers are equally attentive when shopping. A few examples:
- I find it incredibly tedious to make sure I'm only buying Swiss fruit and vegetables, because you always have to look for the indication of origin first - it's often printed somewhere rather small. How would it be if products from Switzerland were marketed even more specifically, with huge Swiss crosses or something. I would find it even better if the whole vegetable section was completely separated: Swiss products here, foreign products there. Then you could even buy blind without having to study the labels.
- I would often be interested in a little more detail about how a particular product was produced, especially in the case of foreign vegetables. Detailed information, e.g. on the Internet, would be very interesting.
- But the biggest annoyance of all is this: Insanely often products are labeled "Made in Switzerland". Where the raw materials come from remains a Migros secret. That really bothers me and is not transparent at all.

I agree, you have to use a magnifying glass to read the declaration of the food. In the case of (organic) vegetables, sometimes only the Swiss distributor is indicated without the country of origin. The fact that the food declarations are generally deliberately written in small print is nothing new. Otherwise the goods would not be bought if it was easy to read. In general, there is a lot of cheating on the part of the major distributors, and in Germany there is the internet link foodwatch.de which also draws attention to this problem.

I can give you the following feedback on the first two points:
The requirements for data that must be on the product are very diverse. One of the most important details is certainly the origin, which is either marked on the product or on the price tag. We are currently looking into how we can display customer-relevant data better/larger in future.
Proposal to separate the department
In the Fruit & Vegetables department, there are always seasonal changes of origin. During transitional weeks or when there is a shortage of Swiss produce, we often also have goods from Switzerland and abroad. This would mean that the products would have to be presented twice or the department would have to be constantly rearranged. This would mean a lot of work for the store staff and would also cause space problems. It would also be very tedious for you customers, as you would have to look for products in a different place every time. We are therefore not currently considering sorting the range according to your suggestion.
Information on products
We provide background information via Migros Magazine. We will increase this in the future. In principle, Migros requires all suppliers to comply with the Global GAP and the BSCI (Business Social Compliance Initiative) code of conduct.
The Global GAP certification summarizes basic standards that take into account environmental and social aspects of production, among other things. Compliance with the defined standards is audited by independent organizations worldwide. All suppliers have also signed the BSCI Code of Conduct and thus undertake to comply with the legal requirements in the area of social compatibility.

I have now also received feedback on the third point you raised.
On Migros products, the information on the country of production and the declaration of the origin of the raw materials/ingredients is implemented in accordance with Swiss legislation. Migros is also stricter when it comes to meat and fish ingredients; the origin of the individual meat and fish ingredients is always stated for quantities of 20% or more.
We take your wish for more transparency very seriously. For the future, we are therefore considering which ingredients should also have their origin declared.
