Shorter receipts for the customer (don't have to fold them up a thousand times to fit in the wallet for large purchases).
Lower consumption of receipts (i.e. also lower costs for receipts + better for the environment, but probably slightly more expensive printers)

Please check whether this could also be an option for Migros. The reverse side printed with company logos is probably not given too much attention these days.

Most cash register receipts are created with a thermal printer, so it is not possible to print on both sides. Thermal paper discolors when exposed to heat, so double-sided printing (in the cash register printer) is not possible on such paper.
