It really isn't necessary. The main thing is that the corrected typo is changed. I would be in favor of blocking the edit option as soon as you have received an answer.
It would be smarter to create new posts instead of constantly editing the initial post, i.e. to ask the questions via ANSWERS. There is a risk that text edits will not be read, as they are usually corrections and do not contain entirely new content.
